My Favorite Friday Five Posts

Today marks the end of an era.  Last week, Courtney, Mar, and Cynthia, also known as the DC Trifecta Bloggers, announced their intention to end the Friday Five linkup.  I’ll admit, I’m a bit disappointed in the decision, though I completely understand why they made the decision.  Blogging takes a lot of time, effort, and dedication, so I can only begin to imagine how much time they have needed in order to effectively host this linkup.

I’m incredibly thankful for all of their hard work and effort to make this a successful linkup.  This linkup has allowed me to connect with several bloggers who I wouldn’t have otherwise met.  Its also provided me with a focus for the majority of my Friday blog posts since I first starting linking up back in February 2014.

In light of this being the final week for the Friday Five linkup I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane and look back at my five favorite Friday Five posts.

1.  Five Sources of Inspiration – October 3, 2014

I find motivation and inspiration to run from a variety of sources, including my husband as well as other fellow runners.

2.  Five Reasons to Run a Half Marathon – October 24, 2014

This post allowed me to reflect on and share many of the reasons that I chose to train for and run my first half marathon.

3.  Five Reasons I Love Running with My Husband – May 8, 2015

Until recently, my husband has been my primary running partner.  Of course, he now shares that role with our little man.

4.  Favorite Races and Medals – July 17, 2015

The Disney World Half Marathon remains my favorite race and favorite race medal to date.  Who knows, maybe I’ll have a new favorite race and medal after I run the Wine and Dine Half Marathon next month?

It was fun to take a trip down memory lane and write a post in celebration of our five year wedding anniversary.

Even with the linkup officially coming to an end, I still plan to write some Friday Five posts of my own from time to time.  I’m interested to see who else in the blogging world will also continue to write their own Friday Five posts as well.

For the final time, I want to say a huge thank you to the DC Trifecta Bloggers (Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC, Mar from Mar on the Run, and Cynthia from You Signed Up For What?!) for hosting the weekly Friday Five Link Up.  Thank you for all of your hard work over the past several years in hosting a very successful linkup.

Great look back at Friday 5 posts! I’m thinking I’ll probably continue as well.

  3. great posts! who knows, I may throw in some Friday Fives on occasion too – thanks for joining us the past couple years!

  4. Awesome post! I love that your husband runs with you! 🙂

  5. I can’t believe that link up is ending – it’s one of the first ones I ever joined! I love your roundup, and I love that you and your husband run together! Too cute!

  6. Lacey says:

The pic of you two on your wedding day is beautiful! I hope my future husband can also be my running buddy:)

  7. I can’t believe the link up is ending- it definitely gave me a structure to post on most Fridays. And I probably will continue to post 5 things Friday posts- I mean, I’m so used to coming up with five things posts it’s going to be hard to not do it! I hope we get a chance to meet IRL at Wine n Dine! I love meeting fellow bloggers in person and that’s one of my favorite things about link ups- making connections with other bloggers.

  8. I haven’t been doing the Friday Five link-up for long, but it’s (already) kind of a routine for me…so I’ll be doing some “five” posts on Fridays, as well 😉

  9. Elle says:

My husband is my only running partner and I am so thankful for him… you are lucky to have that too, and now your beautiful little boy. Loved the pics!

  10. Awe, love these pics. I only did this link up a couple times, as I think too many link ups can take away from the blog and I participate in a couple others, but did enjoy these posts! We can all do our own Friday 5’s hehe!!!!

  11. I love this! I didn’t always have time to link up, but I thought they were great posts, and Friday Five just seems natural. Thanks for sharing your favorites!

  12. Rachel says:

I so wish I could run with my husband. Our kids are too young to be left alone, too big to be taken in the stroller, and too little to run the distance I run. One of these days! Great roundup of posts. 🙂

  13. I just realized we probably met through the Friday Five as well!

  14. I thought about doing a recap of my favorite Friday 5 posts–I think mine are those Runfessions! I have so much fun with that and I always made myself come up with 5. Now I don’t have to…

  15. MB Jackson says:

What a great recap! I love that you and the hubby run together and you two are always smiling!

  16. All excellent posts! We will miss the FF as well, but after three years, we were each ready for a bit of a break. I have to say, I have no idea what I’m going to post next Friday – which is SO weird! 🙂 Thanks for linking up with us for so long!

  17. It’s so nice that you and your husband run together! Happy five year anniversary!

  18. Angela @marathonsandmotivation.com says:

I’m going to miss the Friday 5 too! i don’t link up often, but I always love reading everyone’s posts!!

  19. Laura Bowers says:
