Pregnancy Fitness Stats

With my due date next week, and me not having worked out in a week due to extreme lower back pain, I’d say my days of working out between now and when my son is born are limited if not done altogether.  Although I slowed down quite a bit after running/walking Rock ‘n’ Roll Philly at 32 weeks pregnant, I don’t consider my slowing down a sign of failure whatsoever.  While its been a mental struggle some days to accept that my body just can’t keep up with what it was capable of earlier on in my pregnancy, I know that taking the extra rest now that my body is screaming for is 100 percent the right decision.

So just what was I able to accomplish while pregnant?  Since getting pregnant at the end of March I have:

pregnancy fitness stats

Ran 320.3 Miles
(through a combination of races and training for those races)

Walked 91.4 Miles
(many of which were afternoon or evening walks outside with Riley)

Logged 53.4 Miles on the Elliptical

Completed 10 Races
(including two half marathons, a ten miler, two 10ks, 4 5ks, and a one miler)

Earned 7 Race Medals

Its incredible to look back on these stats and reflect on all that I’ve accomplished while pregnant.  I am blessed to have been able to have been as active as I was for as long as I was.  And none of these stats include the time I spent practicing yoga or weight training at the gym.

I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to quickly resume fitness activities after delivery, but of course I’ll be heeding the advice of my OB, just as I have throughout my pregnancy.  If I hadn’t had her approval, then I of course wouldn’t have maintained the fit and active lifestyle that I did throughout my pregnancy.

QOTD: What accomplishment(s) from 2015 are you most proud of?
