On Monday I received some exciting news – that my Rock ‘n’ Blogger discount code is valid for next year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll DC races. Use discount code DANCINGTORUNNING to save $15 on race registration for the half or full marathons. The race is scheduled for Saturday, March 12th. (Note, my code is also currently valid for Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona and Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans.)
I would love to run Rock ‘n’ Roll DC again (I ran it in 2014 when it was named Rock ‘n’ Roll USA.) With Baby Thayer due next month, 2016 will not be the year for me to return to this race, but you can bet that I’ll be cheering those of you on who do choose to run this race in just 15 short weeks.

After crossing the finish line of RnRUSA, now called RnRDC, back in March 2014
I’ve now run at three different Rock ‘n’ Roll events (Virginia Beach in 2013, 2014, and 2015, as well as Philly this year and DC back in 2014), and all have been positive race experiences. Rock ‘n’ Roll races are well known for their great on course entertainment, having plenty of water and fuel stops along the course, as well as having lots of post race food available for runners at the finish line.
Interested in running the streets of DC in March? Maybe drop a couple of hints to your friends and family that you’d like a race registration for Christmas. The next price increase isn’t scheduled until January, so there’s plenty of time to cash in on the current registration price ($115 for the full marathon, $105 for the half marathon, plus $15 off using code DANCINGTORUNNING).
QOTD: What race(s) are on your 2016 race calendar?
I’ve never run an RnR race! The Chicago race is in July, and it can be pretty uncomfortable here that time of year. I wouldn’t mind NO or LV!
Vegas is on my bucket list.
I’m already signed up to run this one next year 🙂 I signed up pretty much right after I finished this year’s race. I really loved the course.
It has such great crowd support, and I loved running through Adam’s Morgan.
I’m already registered! scored a sweet deal a couple months ago and some of my Pittsburgh friends are coming to run it as well. I can’t wait!
Sounds like it’ll be a fun race weekend for you, Mar!
How cool! I’m waiting to see if I got into the NYC half, but if I didn’t, maybe I’ll do this one!
Its a great race, Nicole.
I wish I could do this race in 2016! It’ll have to wait until 2017 though. So far I have 8 halfs on my wish list for next year. My first one will be Half at the Hamptons in NH on March 6, and my goal fall half will likely be the Philly Half or Annapolis Running Festival!
Its always so hard to pick and choose which races to run since there’s so many great ones out there.
I’d love to do the Philly RNR race next year, just need to figure out my calendar. The DC race is a good one, but I think I’m taking a break this year. (Watch, I’ll end up signing up last minute again LOL)
You seem to be good at that last minute registration thing. 😉
I’d love to come to DC and run this one! I’ll be doing RnR NOLA instead…it’s only 2.5 hours away!
Understandable! I’d love to be able to run NOLA one day.
shamrock is the weekend after rnr and it’s my goal spring race so i’ll be cheering this year. i love cheering this race, though because it runs half a block from my house at mile 12!
That’s exactly why I didn’t run DC last year. That’s awesome that the course goes by your house!
RnR races are lots of fun for sure!
Agreed!
still working on next year’s race calendar. Would love to do a RNR one though!
I highly recommend the race series. 🙂
How cool! I love it when bloggers have discount codes! I’ll be sure to share it
Thanks!
I’m so sad I didn’t get to run any RnR races this year! I was all set to do Brooklyn as my first half post-baby, and then I sprained my foot. Maybe I’ll sign up for DC next year!
Oh no! I hope your foot is feeling better.
Thanks for sharing! Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah just pasted, but I will definitely check it out next year 🙂
Rock ‘n’ Roll has so many races in so many great locations.
Thanks for sharing the code! Malinda ran this year (3:54:58) and will be chasing a 2017 BQ on March 12! 🙂
Good luck!
Oooo! Might have to look into doing the one here in Raleigh. Thanks for the code!
I heard great things about the Raleigh race.
my mom and I were just talking about possibly doing this race! thanks for the code!
Anytime!
