Disclaimer: Through my affiliation with Fit Approach, I received SmartyPants Prenatal Vitamins in exchange for this review. As always, all opinions are my own.
One of the many topics of discussion at my first OB appointment after my positive pregnancy test was the need to take prenatal vitamins. My OB emphasized the importance of taking a prenatal vitamin in order to ensure that I’m not only getting the appropriate amount of vitamins but also a sufficient amount of folic acid in order to support a healthy growing baby.
Like I shared in last month’s SmartyPants Vitamins review, one of the many things I hate about having to take vitamins is the poor taste that most vitamins have. Most vitamins are large pills, which makes them difficult to swallow. Despite knowing how important vitamins are for me, especially prenatal vitamins, doesn’t change the fact that I would rather not have to take them.
Since I received my SmartyPants Prenatal Vitamins at the beginning of September, I’ve actually looked forward to taking my vitamins each day. These gummy like vitamins are not only smaller in size than some traditional vitamins, but they also taste great. The prenatal vitamins come in Orange, Lemon, and Strawberry-Banana.
Some of the highlights of the SmartyPants Prenatal Vitamins include:
- They are gluten free and do not contain any dairy, peanut, or tree nut products
- They do not contain any high fructose corn syrup
- They are 100% free of artificial sweeteners, colors, preservatives, and flavors
- They are iron free, should taking in too much iron be of a concern to you or your OB (since I’m anemic I take an iron supplement in addition to my prenatal vitamin)

QOTD: How do you ensure that you get your daily recommended vitamins?
LOVE SmartyPants vitamins! I’ve almost gone through my bottle they sent me and haven’t even written the post for it yet….ooops!
Oops!
Love this! It’s great that they have fish oil too! I’m going to have to look for these!
Be sure to check out their website for where you can buy them.
I remember my prenatal vitamins making me sick to my stomach. THese looks awesome!
They don’t taste horrible whatsoever.
The only thing about gummy vitamins is that they are associated with increased dental caries. Make sure you brush really well after you take them!!!!
I’ve been very focused on good dental hygiene while pregnant. 🙂
I mentioned before that I love these, but I had no idea they made prenatal ones! Very cool!
I loved finding out that prenatal vitamins are part of their product lineup.
You know, I am not pregnant, never have been. But my Doctors have me take Prenatals as a multi vitamin (over the counter version) because they have so much more of what we need in them, then a regular multi vitamin. Plus, I have low iron, and additionally they help keep my hair growing nicely and shiny:)
They definitely have more of the essential vitamins and minerals that all women need.
I’ll have to try these! I’m always looking for prenatal vitamins – thanks for the great review.
Be sure to enter the giveaway for your chance to try them out for free.
I love vitamins that look and taste like candy! I always look forward to eating those.
Me too.
Prenatal vitamins in a gummy form sounds great! I take daily multivitamins that are the traditional pills, so they are huge. Glad they’ve been working out so well for you!
I can’t believe how large vitamins are sometimes. How do the manufacturers actually expect people to be able to swallow them without gagging?!?
Oh wow, those are really cool! I wish they had those when I was pregnant. Now I take Adult Essentials gummy vitamins – I can’t stand swallowing large pills either.
I’m Bad at remembering my vitamins! I put them by my toothbrush so I will hopefully remember, but I don’t always have a cup for water to take it with.
Ooo those look great! I’m with you on the taste of vitamins – not a fan!! Those look like something I could get used to though 😉

I haven’t tried that particular brand of prenatal vitamins but when I was pregnant with my son I definitely took them on a regular basis. I love that these vitamins are gummies!
I am TERRIBLE about taking vitamins… TERRIBLE! So I am going to plead the fifth on this 😉
I’m currently taking a prenatal vitamin on a daily basis. I’m also getting into juicing so I’m hoping that helps too.
I take a multi to make it easy.
I take a multivitamin and iron supplement because I’m anemic. But i was told to start taking prenatal vitamins bc i am going to try to get pregnant next year.
I try to eat healthy with lots of fruits and veggies, but I do take multi-vitamins as well as iron supplements.
