Friday Five – October 17th – Five More Favorite Running Songs

Last month I shared my five favorite running songs.  My list of five classics have always been on my playlist, no matter how many times I’ve changed it.  So when I saw that this week’s theme for the Friday Five linkup was favorite fitness tunes, I knew that it was time for an encore performance of last month’s blog post.

Without further ado, here are five more of my favorite running songs:

1.  “Summer of ’69” by Bryan Adams
2.  “Evacuate the Dancefloor” by Cascada
3.  “Forget You” by Cee Lo Green
4.  “September” by Earth, Wind, & Fire
5.  “Running on Empty” by Jackson Browne

As you can see from both last month’s and this month’s playlist (as well as from my Favorite “Love” Running Songs post from back in February), I’m definitely an 80s/90s music junkie.  I’m in desperate need of updating my playlist, and am very much looking forward to getting some ideas from fellow Friday Five linkup participants.

QOTD: What is your favorite running song?

As always, thank you to the DC Trifecta Bloggers (Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC, Mar from Mar on the Run, and Cynthia from You Signed Up For What?!) for hosting the weekly Friday Five Link Up.  Be sure to check out their posts as well!

  2. Right now I love Kascade and Steve Aoki remixes they just get me grooving 🙂 I am also loving the Spotify app for discovering new music! Great song choices!! Xo C

I’m certainly 80s/90s music myself. I have a whole playlist for ’80s and Summer of ’69 is on there.

I need to create a playlist of my favorite 80’s music. Bryan Adams was one of my favorites.
Right now I’m digging on the Maroon 5 and Fall Out Boy albums. They’re high energy and full of good beats.
    Have a great weekend kathryn.

  5. Summer of ’69!!! Love that song!!!

  6. september is an excellent song and summer of 69 always takes me back to right before graduation from law school when my law school best friend and i were driving down for a week at the beach with a bunch of our friends.

I have a lot of 80’s songs on mine too 🙂 Evacuate the Dance Floor is a great one, I never thought to add it to my running playlist but I’ll have to do that.

  9. Great choices! Sometimes I feel like that last song on the last few miles of a marathon…haha

  10. This is SUCH a fun link up! I love seeing how different and similar everyone is!

I enjoy listening to Summer of ’69 as well, especially since I saw Bryan Adams in concert last year! I was one of the youngest at the concert but it was a great concert. I like listening to “Go the Distance” and “Push it to the Limit” (by Corbin Bleu) when I really need motivation.

  12. LOVE Summer of ’69. I’m so putting together a playlist of my favorites, which means most of it will be 80’s and early 90’s ’cause I haven’t really listened to new music since then LOL.

  13. Lindsey says:

I need to update my workout playlist, too! I remember being so sad when I found out what the non radio edit version of Forget You was haha. I mean, it’s fine, but not necessarily one I want to belt out all the time 🙂
