I realized last night that its been almost a month since I last shared a recipe with all of you! My apologies for that, but I’ve also had a lot of running and race news to share with all of you. Preston and I have made these sweet potato fries a couple of times now. They’re absolutely delicious, and so easy to make!
Ingredients:
2 medium sweet potatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp honey
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Peel the potatoes, and cut into 1/2 inch thick chunks/slices.
3. Toss the cut potatoes in a mixing bowl with the olive oil, chili powder, sea salt, and cinnamon. Spread onto a cookie sheet.
4. Drizzle the honey over potatoes.
5. Cook in oven for 15-20 minutes, flipping the potatoes halfway through cooking time.
We’ve enjoyed these sweet potatoes with chicken, pork, and steak, usually with a salad on the side. The meal combinations for these potatoes are endless. We’ve found them to be a perfect compliment to a spicier meat, as the sweetness of the potatoes nicely balances the savory spices that we like to top our meats with.
QOTD: What is your perfect sweet and spicy combination?
This looks amazing!!
They are! 🙂
These look delicious!! Can’t wait to try them!
Let me know how it turns out! I’m sure your boys will love them as well.
AMAZE-BALLS. And I just got the email saying I’m getting fresh sweet potatoes in this week’s crop share. Perfect timing! I’ll let you know how they come! 🙂
Perfect!
Yuummmm these look so good!
They are! 🙂
How about adding in some garlic salt instead of sea salt?
I considered adding garlic powder, but my husband cringed at the suggestion of garlic and cinnamon together.
That looks so delicious! I LOVE sweet potatoes! Never thought about adding chili powder to them!
It tastes so good with the chili powder, and gives it just a little bit of a kick that perfectly balances the sweetness of the cinnamon and honey.
Sounds delicious! I’ve never done honey with sweet potatoes before for some reason. I love fruit for a sweet savory combination. I’ve made watermelon salsa before that’s delicious. It’s pretty much a normal salsa recipe with cilantro, onions, jalapeno, salt but uses chopped watermelon instead of the tomatoes. Sounds slightly strange but it’s tasty.
Sounds delicious! I’ll have to try that sometime.
Those sound great!
Mouth … watering!!! Those fries look sooooo good!!! I must try this recipe 🙂
