Each time I go out for a run, it isn’t all about completing a run at the fastest pace possible. For example, some workouts are hill focused, which inevitably means that my pace will be slower. But other days I just want to go out and run for fun.
When I first heard about the Summer Run Scavenger Hunt that Fairytales and Fitness is sponsoring, I immediately jumped on board to participate. Its very easy to want to compete with myself in order to make improvements, but I can’t pass up a good old scavenger hunt.
The rules of the hunt are pretty simple: sign up to participate, go for a run, and while out on a run search for one of 20 items on the scavenger hunt list. On Saturday and yesterday I decided to make my runs more fun by focusing on a specific running goal (running 6.5 miles on Saturday, and a hill workout yesterday), while at the same time searching for items on the list.

During Saturday’s run I found another runner, a porta potty, a red car, and an “animal” (human) crossing sign

During Monday’s run I took a selfie and found a flag, a fence, purple flowers, and a “tree” named street
If you want to participate in the scavenger hunt, you still have time! All entries have to be submitted by June 1st. Head on over to Fairytales and Fitness to sign up and see the full list of scavenger hunt items. Since I’ve only found nine of the items, I’ll be looking for the other 11 during my next run.
QOTD: How do you make running fun?
How fun!! I love having things to look for and distract myself when running 🙂
Me too, especially on days when the run is more difficult.
We are so glad you are having fun with the hunt!
Thanks again for hosting! Its been a fun scavenger hunt!
This sounds like fun! I usually just enjoy myself by going out for a run and changing up my route a bit, doesn’t take too much to please me!
Changing up a route is always fun! I love exploring new places!
So fun!! Love all the pics! Always nice to have an extra goal to add more fun to the run.
Absolutely!
I signed up too! I probably won’t get to all the items since I just signed up Saturday lol! So far I’ve only found a fence, a flag, and taken a selfie lol! But it’s fun regardless!
I doubt I’ll find all 20 items, but like you said, its still fun to participate!
Oh this is such a fun idea!!! I live in Seward which is a pretty small town – I don’t even know if we have all of those things but I kind of want to try! Looks like you’re doing a good job so far!
You should definitely try! You never know what you’ll find.
Sounds like so much fun! A good way to distract myself on a run 🙂
Absolutely!
I have to be honest – this sounds like amazing fun!!!! Sorry to miss out – nice job on your hunt!
There’s still time to join in! Head on over to Fairytales and Fitness to see the full list of 20 items.
