Spartan Race Giveaway

Racing isn’t just about running a course and doing so in the fastest time possible.  Its also about challenging yourself to reach new goals, and most importantly, having fun while doing so.

So when Spartan Race contacted me last week about hosting a giveaway, I was very excited about the idea of working with them.  The obstacles that are included in their races range in ability and skill level, which allows athletes of all types to be challenged at an appropriate level.

According to their website:

“Spartan Race is on a mission to get you active, healthy, excited about change, and return to our ancient roots where running through woods, getting dirty, and facing adversity was part of everyday life.  Our events are all about challenging today’s perception of normal.  Having experienced many different racing events, we wanted to make adventure racing more accessible to everyone, but do not be fooled by the word ‘accessible’, as our events have a challenge for everyone’s needs.  Spartan Race now introduces a level for everyone beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan, the advanced Spartan Beast, and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Death Race.   Whatever your level, Spartan Race will test your strength, stamina, and sense of humor.”

In 2014 Spartan Race is hosting events in more than 20 cities across the country.  Its likely that they’re hosting an event near where you live or near a city that you’re already set to visit this year.  And of course, doing a race like Spartan Race would be much more fun if you tackle the challenge with friends instead of just by yourself. 🙂

  15. Drew says:

My wife and I did the Charlotte sprint, and we’re both hooked. For those that are apprehensive, I say don’t be! These things are a big, muddy party. They’re a blast. Is the race challenging? Heck yes, but in the best ways. The trails and obstacles are filled with people representing every level of fitness and ability. From the elites, to the weekend warrior moms and dads (aka, my wife and I) who only use the word “training” when it refers to the potty.

  16. Alberto says:

The most challenging event I’ve completed was the GORUCK Challenge in Houston back in January. We covered 19.5 miles in 12.5 hours overnight with 40# ruck sacks on our backs. Very grueling team event.

  17. betty4031 says:

So far, my crossfit competition in January was the most difficult challenge I have taken on.. when I did my first half last year.. that was hard also… my knees were kiling me.. it was a different type of pain.

  18. Seth says:

The most challenging race I’ve done is the Primal Mud Run, which I did a couple years ago. It was my first OCR, so it was harder than I expected.

  19. Jennifer says:

Toughest race I did was the Spartan a few months ago and I can’t wait to do it again!
