I’ll just come right out and say it: this past week was one of the best training weeks I’ve ever had! It was full of lots of highs, especially since my three runs this week were some of the fastest that I’ve ever run. And to top off a great week of training, I had a lot to celebrate over the past week, including:
I set a new 5k PR on Monday and a new 10k PR on Saturday
Saturday marked my one year blogiversary
My birthday was yesterday and we spent the weekend celebrating
I know that not all weeks will be like the one I just had, so I’m trying to relish and enjoy my runner’s high and the excitement of sharing my birthday with close friends. This coming week I’ll be keeping it easy on the running front as I finish preparing for the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run next Sunday.
Mon 3/24 – 3.10 mile treadmill run (10:06 min/mile pace), 0.44 mile cool down walk, abs, legs, glutes
Tues 3/25 – Rest day
Wed 3/26 – 3.10 mile treadmill run (10:07 min/mile pace), 0.30 mile cool down walk, arms, chest
Thurs 3/27 – 15 minutes of yoga

Sat 3/29 – 6.20 mile treadmill run (10:54 min/mile pace), 0.74 mile cool down walk, foam rolling, abs, chest, back, arms, shoulders

QOTD: What fitness milestones have you reached recently?
COngrats on the PRs and good luck for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler! I had my first run in the snow last Tuesday and my first race in the rain on Sunday. Do those count as milestones 🙂
They absolutely do! Kudos for not skipping out even when the weather isn’t on your side!

Congrats on a great week of running! I love it when my training pays off and I start to see results… it pushes you to work even harder!
I couldn’t agree more!
nice week! see ya at cherry blossom!
See you there, Courtney!
Yayy for PRs! Looks like you were never out of commission – amazing what the body can do after some rest/healing.
It does look as though my forced time off has done wonders for both my recovery as well as my training. It drove me nuts when I was stuck on the couch but now I’m very thankful. 🙂
