Thanks everybody for all of your congratulations and encouragement about my second half marathon! It still hasn’t quite set in that I ran my second half, or that I PRed by 20 minutes. One thing is for certain though: crossing the finish line of half #2 has me eager to run even more!
My next race is in two and a half weeks when I’ll be running the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run. This will be my first ten miler, so that of course means a guaranteed PR! Other than a local 5k at the end of April, I’m not currently registered for any other races, but I’m hoping to change that soon!
As I shared back in January when I wrote about my goal to complete 14 races in 2014, as well as last month when I wrote about some of my race ideas, there are several races that I’m currently considering. I’m about 90% certain that half marathon #3 will be Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach over Labor Day weekend, and then I want to commit to a fall half marathon. I’m tentatively thinking that the Baltimore Half Marathon will be my big focus for the fall, but I haven’t 100% committed to that race either.
Regardless of what races I choose to register for, one thing is for certain: the more finish lines I cross the more eager I am to push myself to run even more races!
QOTD: What spring races are you looking forward to running?
Great job on half marathon #2!!! I ran half marathon #2 Sunday and was very happy with my results, too!! It feels good to be happy after a race, doesn’t it?! 🙂
I live close to Va Beach so I know all about Rock n Roll! It’s a great race and great course! It’s tons of fun and lots of people!!
I’m doing Crawlin’ Crab half in Hampton, VA October 5th! That will be my next half!
Have a great day! 😉
Thanks Kristin! Preston ran RnRVB last year and I ran the 5k, and we loved our experience, which is why we’re highly considering a return trip this year. And what could be better than spending Labor Day weekend at the beach?
I know, I love the beach!! So much fun!!!
I am registered for 2 races in April but I haven’t really talked about them because I will probably defer because of my leg issue ( which makes me very sad).
Oh no Meranda! I hope your leg heals soon so you can resume running races again.
I’m running The Fargo ND marathon in May. Hope I make it. Winter here in MN has been hard to train. Oh well. Looking forward to warmer weather and more runs. Glad you are so excited to keep running. Good job on the half! 😄
I hear ya on the winter training. We spent lots of time doing treadmill running while preparing for Disney Marathon weekend.
Doing another RNR race will earn you an additional medal… and who doesn’t love that?! 🙂
Its all about the bling!
I am also running Cherry Blossom, and the weekend before I am running a. Ore local 10 miler. It’s my first 10 miler experience. I have a 10k, a half marathon and another 10 miler. All local which I love. Congrats again on the half PR!
Yay for more races! I’m also currently considering a few more half marathons (I just did my first one at the end of February and my second will be next weekend!) and I think it’s such a good way to motivate ourselves to keep running throughout the year! Plus more bling 🙂
