The excitement and my runner’s high from running the Disney World Half Marathon last month is still going strong. Since crossing the finish line of my first half marathon, I’ve been excitedly looking at possible races, both to run in 2014 as well as to add to my race bucket list. I’m hopeful that this high will continue going strong in the coming weeks and months as I train and run even more races.
There were so many great memories that I made during Marathon Weekend. With runDisney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend kicking off tomorrow morning, I thought it would be fun to look back on some of my most magical moments from our trip to Disney. My own memories serve to remind me of just how magical any runner’s experience can be at Disney. To those running during Princess Weekend, I hope your race experience is just as magical as mine was!
Some of the best moments from last month’s trip to Disney include:
Meeting many fellow bloggers and members of Team #runDisney

With Heather from Through Heather’s Looking Glass
Realizing that I have a collector’s item due to the misspelling of “inaugural” on the 10k bibs
Running my first half marathon with Preston by my side

Running through Cinderella’s Castle was one of the highlights of the race!

If all of my accomplishments don’t show you just how memorable of an experience runDisney races are, be sure to check out the Team #runDisney Marathon Weekend recap video. Special thanks to team member Marc Acosta for putting the video together. Each time I watch it, I can’t help but smile as I think back on everything we experienced during our week at Disney World. Be sure to watch out for Preston and I during the video – we make several appearances!
QOTD: What is your most magical moment from a race that you’ve run?
What fun memories you’ve made! I hope to have just as much at PHM this weekend! Congrats again! You can tell just how happy you were in those photos!
Thanks Meranda! Hope you have a blast this weekend!
I LOVE this post!!! What amazing memories!!! Disney races really are the absolute best!!!
They really are, Mindy. I can’t wait until the stars align and I can run my next Disney race!
Great post! It sounds like such an amazing weekend 🙂 I’m definitely looking forward to doing a RunDisney race this year and hopefully more to come in the future.
runDisney races are truly magical. Which race are you thinking about doing this year?
I’m signed up for the Tower of Terror 10 miler in October 🙂 The timing of that one worked out well for a trip to Florida for us.
What an awesome post! I’m definitely still “high” on the WDW Marathon Weekend, too…I can’t believe a month has already gone by! These are such great pictures and memories! 😀
The past month has definitely flown by!
Kathyrn, how exciting for you. I love this post {I actually got emotional about it} you did it, and you shared this with your hubby …that is perfect 🙂 I am so hoping to do my first half this June {and I am wondering if I really can}. My fave running moments are the ones I do with our daughter, sharing our 5ks together 🙂
I questioned whether I could do my first half, and I’m so glad that I put the fear aside and went for it. Crossing the finish line was one of the most fulfilling moments of my life, because I proved to myself that I could do it. And how special that you and your daughter get to share races together!
Yay great post! I am literally on my way to Disney right now for my very first half!!! I’m so excited and nervous (especially about the heat!) and reading this makes me so excited to get there!
You’ll do great this weekend, Kristen! Hope you have a blast!
