Happy almost 2014! As I’ve reflected back on all that I accomplished in 2013, its amazing to think about how much has changed for me in 2013, particularly one thing:
A year ago I wasn’t running.
Now that running has become a major part of my life, its hard to imagine life without running. Running has certainly changed my life, in more ways than one. 2013 has offered me the opportunity to:
- Run over 400 miles (something I thought I’d NEVER do)
- Find yet another hobby that Preston and I can share a passion for together (after all, it was his running of the Disney World Marathon in January 2013 that inspired me to start running in the first place)
- Complete 12 races (8 5ks, 3 10ks, and a three miler)
- Start blogging about my running and other life experiences
Much of my running focus in 2013 has been on training for my first half marathon, which is only 11 short days away! A year ago, I never imagined that I’d be running, let alone training for my first half marathon. As I look forward to 2014, I can’t wait to see what lies ahead and how running continues to change my life!
QOTD: What is something that you started doing in 2013 that you previously never imagined you’d do?
Being new to running and loving it is such a wonderful and life changing experience! The wonderfulness will continue 🙂
I ran my first ultra! That first mile beyond 26.2 was unforgettable!
Did you join 14 in 2014? If you haven’t you should 🙂
Congrats on your ultra! I’m sure you’ll never forget that experience!
And I did join #14in2014! I’m hoping to work on my post and get it up on the blog either tomorrow or Thursday.
Wow 400 miles, that is awesome! I ran my first 10k in 2013 and am ready to run more! 🙂 Good luck in your half! Happy Nee Year!
Way to go Sarah! I also ran my first (and then second and third) 10k in 2013. Can’t wait to see what 2014 holds for all of us!
