Happy Snow Day here from icy Northern Virginia! What I thought was going to be a quiet, event less morning quickly changed when I received notification of this tweet from runDisney:
You are not going to want to miss the announcement from @NBRunning & #runDisney today… Stay tuned!

Just a couple of minutes later New Balance followed up with this:
Big news: @NBRunning & @rundisney announce TWO new #runDisney character shoe designs! http://t.co/Tf2TqZ0TFq

The big news? In addition to the Sorcerer Mickey and Pink Minnie Mouse themed New Balance runDisney shoes, which were revealed last month at the first On the Road to Disney meetup in Atlanta, New Balance will be adding Goofy and Cinderella themed shoes to the 2014 shoe lineup. Unlike the Sorcerer Mickey and Pink Minnie shoes which will utilize the New Balance 860 shoe model, which is a stability running shoe and the same model that the 2013 New Balance runDisney shoes are, the Goofy and Cinderella shoes will utilize the New Balance 890 shoe model, which is a neutral running shoe. For more information about the shoes, check out the video that runDisney released this morning.
My current running shoes, the Mizuno Wave Inspire 9, are stability shoes, but since I don’t plan on running in the New Balance runDisney shoes I will have options to choose from. I’m very much looking forward to when they’re available for purchase at the Marathon weekend expo and being able to try them on, where I’ll make the final decision about whether or not to purchase these new shoes.
QOTD: What do you think about the addition of Goofy and Cinderella to the 2014 New Balance runDisney lineup? What characters would you like to see added in the future?
Hi There! I did already know about the Cinderella Shoes coming out, NB talked about that a few months ago! However, I had no idea about the Goofy shoes, although it does make sense that they would make a male and female version of the shoe. I would definitely choose the Cinderella ones over the Minnie ones but honestly I don’t think I will be buying either of them. As cute as these are, I just don’t see myself wearing a shoe with a Disney character on it. Even though they are super fun, they just remind me of kid shoes!
I totally understand where you’re coming from, which is why I won’t be making my final decision until I see them in person.
I would love to see a Sleeping Beauty shoe where it fades from pink in the front to blue in the back and has gold sparkles throughout! Also one irridescent ribbon lace in pink and the other in blue- so fun! Perfect for the Princess Half!
Such a cute idea!
