Not only was today my first day of school with my new students, but today also marked the start of my half marathon training. 130 days from now I will be running the Disney World Half Marathon, and I couldn’t be more excited about starting my training plan! I’m following a modified version of one of Jeff Galloway’s training plans, and I can’t wait to see how my body adapts to a specific plan as opposed to just going for a run.
When I got home from the gym tonight, I saw this announcement on Twitter:
Where has the time gone? Labor Day Weekend marked three years and running since the launch of runDisney. http://t.co/DOJm5bI4Xy
— runDisney (@runDisney) September 3, 2013
How appropriate that my first week of half marathon training is the same week as runDisney’s birthday! Happy Birthday runDisney! I can’t wait to have a belated celebration with you at Walt Disney World Marathon weekend in 19 weeks!
Question of the Day (QOTD): What race are you currently training for? Will this be the first time that you run this particular race?
