Today marks two months since I started running. After Monday’s 5K run on the treadmill, I logged my miles and noticed on RunKeeper that my all time distance was 99 miles – only 1 small mile off from reaching 100. Although initially disappointed, it left me realizing that I could hit my 100 mile mark closer to an anniversary date of my running.
Yesterday at the gym I focused my cardio time on the elliptical. After logging my miles, I was ecstatic to see this as my all time distance.
Not only did I reach my 100 mile milestone, but I crushed it yesterday. I stepped off of the elliptical overjoyed, proud of myself, and feeling accomplished. Despite my sprained ankle a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been able to work on recovery while still building my running endurance. My miles over the past two months break down as follows:
Running – 59.10 miles
Walking – 24.91 miles
Elliptical – 19.35 miles
Total – 103.36 miles
How long will the next 100 miles take? Since I’ll be starting to increase my miles after this weekend’s Semper Fi 5K in preparation for July’s Biggest Loser 10K, I’m making it my goal to log another 100 miles of training in only 7 weeks, 1.5 weeks shorter than it took me to complete my first 100 miles.
so proud of you!!! 🙂
